BSP FITTINGS & ADAPTORS
BSP (British Standard Pipe) fittings and adaptors are commonly used in hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and industrial applications, available in two thread forms: BSPP (parallel) and BSPT (taper). BSPT threads seal by metal-to-metal contact, while BSPP requires a bonded seal, washer, or O-ring for leak-proof connections. The range includes straight, elbow, tee, and cross adaptors in male, female, or swivel combinations, along with plugs, caps, and conversion adaptors to NPT, Metric, JIC, or SAE threads. Sizes are identified by nominal bore (such as 1/4", 1/2", 1"), not by the actual outside diameter, and sealing depends on the thread type—thread seal for BSPT and washer or O-ring for BSPP. Due to their versatility and standardized design, BSP fittings and adaptors are widely used to connect hoses, pipes, and equipment across industries.
